James Hartley '22 Recruiting Profile

In college I aspire to attend and succeed at a top athletic and academic institution. I have been playing soccer since I was 7 years old and I love everything about the game.  I am open to playing Division1 -Division 3 soccer in college if I am given the opportunity.   My short term athletic goal is  to win another national championship with my high school and club team while continuing to maintain High honors academically.  In terms of my athletic qualifications and what I bring to the table,  I am a highly dedicated and aggressive athlete on and off the field .  I am the captain of my soccer team and always seek to support and guide my teammates to play the best soccer we can and ultimately win the game.   My coaches have always counted on me during clutch moments  because I am not afraid to take risks or step up when needed.  My technical game IQ is strong, I understand the game, can see how to make the winning plays from the back and always stay calm.  I'm quick on my feet and can make smart decisions that benefit my team.    What separates me from other athletes is my personality, leadership and hard work ethic. I pride myself on being an effective and clear communicator with adults ,coaches and my teammates.       I have always been very goal oriented in soccer and in academics , I  want to be do my best and go the furthest I can.  I am not afraid to work hard to get to where I want to go.
