Personal Statement
I have dreamed of playing college soccer since I was 8 years old. I am a strong leader and I am very coachable. I do very well in school and I push myself to do my best academically as well as athletically. I am very determined to win, and I hate the feeling of losing. In my freshman year I was called up at the end of my JV season to practice with the varsity team where I experienced the feeling of losing a regional game. This pushed me to train harder and improve my all around game so I could make a difference at the next level. The following season my sophomore year, I was a starter on the varsity team. With a bad taste of losing the previous year, we had a goal to make it to states from day 1. Sure enough, my team made it to the state championship where we fell one game short of winning it all, losing 2-0 in the state championship game. It was devastating, but that helped to further push me to train harder to win that state championship. During my junior year on varsity, I was able to help lead the team to 14 shutouts on the season, as well as being named to the All-WNY Large School Team. For my previous club team, Empire Buffalo, for the 2019-2020 season I was captain of the team for the third straight year. I also played for a select team that was made along with Empire Rochester, where I started each game as well. For the upcoming 2020-2021 season, I will be playing for the Western New York Flash 02/03 ECNL team, and I will also be the captain of the Clarence High School Varsity team for my senior year. After high school, I am looking to play college soccer at the highest level I can, as well as attending a strong academic institution where I am able to further my education as a mechanical engineer.
