Luke Ferguson Soc...PERSONAL STATEMENT & COACH RECOMMENDATIONS
Being on a team means.... Putting others before myself even when I don't feel like it. I know my team and my coach are counting on me. I should always try my best because I have dedicated my time and loyalty to the team and I expect the same out of my teammates. I put a certain level of commitment and I expect everyone else to care and put in as much or more effort than I do.
As a team we need to not give up when it's hard. We need to do the boring and difficult things together, not just the fun. In doing that we will build team chemistry and get to know how certain people act in high pace game situations. The things we do together don't even have to be related to soccer but when we get to know each other we will be able to respect each other's differences and work better together as a team.
Leadership is a big key. Upper class men should lead by example by showing up to team activities. I can't expect others to do what I am unwilling to do myself. We need more people on our teams that will be team players and make sacrifices for the team. There shouldn't just be a couple of team captains, everyone on the team should push the next person to give 100%. It's just a couple of hours so we should give our full attention the whole time. -by Luke Ferguson

"With Luke you get an energetic, lively and skillful player. He played mostly as a RB for my team but he is very versatile. He is good going forward, creative and can score goals. He works extremely hard and is very coachable." -Coach MARTIN CLAYES, NPL Director
"I had the privilege to coach Luke in his youth. He is a creative player and likes to attack. I played him as a defender as he had a natural ability for that position and it fit the needs of the team. He is deceptively quick which is the reason for his success as a play maker." -RUSSELL RAGLAND, TSCHurricane, ECNL Coaching Staff
"I had the privilege of coaching Luke Ferguson in his younger years of competitive play and have enjoyed watching him mature into a fantastic soccer player, and more importantly, a phenomenal young man. He has an ideal combination of confidence, athleticism, and competitiveness that come together at each training session and game. He consistently sets himself apart as a leader amongst his teammates and any coach or team would benefit from his tenacity, strong character and demeanor on and off the field. He is a great young man, with a very bright future ahead of himself!" -Coach ERIC EDWARDS, TSCH ECNL Staff Coach
I love supporting my school! I was one of the first Sophomores chosen to be on the JUNGLE SQUAD which is part leadership team and part spirit squad. We attend many school events, community events and meetings. We get to be the face of our school and represent the 3,800 students there. I would love to continue to lead and contribute in this way at whatever college I attend.
