My name is Justin Burns, and thank you for taking the time to view my profile. I am a 2025 goalkeeper from Tulsa, Oklahoma, and attend Metro Christian Academy. I play for Tulsa SC on the 2007 ECNL team. I would love to continue my playing career at the next level in college.
After being on the ECNL team for four years, I was cut from the team in May 2023 and dropped to the RL team because I needed to improve certain aspects of my game. Instead of beating myself up about getting cut and making excuses for my situation, I worked hard throughout the entire summer and made myself more coachable to improve every aspect of my game and vowed to myself that I would get back onto the ECNL team as soon as possible. Sure enough, seven games into the 2023 season, I was called back into the ECNL team as a result of my hard work and perseverance and allowed to play an important role in the team, which I have taken to heart and have no plans in letting go as my team pushes for a playoff spot this season.
Academics are very important to me, and I am a diligent student in and out of the classroom in my studies. I have a 4.00 unweighted GPA and a 4.44 weighted GPA. I challenge myself in the most advanced courses possible at my school, including honors, AP, and dual credit classes. I have also participated and placed in several prestigious academic competitions, including the 2021 Mathcounts National Competition, the 2019 Green Country Regional Spelling Bee, and the 2020 Geography Bee at my school. Additionally, I take part in National Honors Society and am on the honor roll at my school.
I provide calm and stability for my team in the goal with my shot-stopping, distribution, aerial abilities, and decision-making. I am also a hard worker who will stop at nothing to play at the highest level possible and, given my past experiences, have the determination, confidence, perseverance, and coachability to succeed and achieve my high potential at the highest level. If given the opportunity, I will give everything I have and do whatever it takes to help make your team successful.
