My name is Mohammad Morsy. I am a 5"10' 163lb attacking midfielder currently playing for the Dallas Texans in Classic League Division 1 in the 03 age group. I am currently a junior and I have been a starter in my high school varsity team since freshman year.
Since my freshman year, almost every coach that has watched me play usually made the same statement about me: "You're very technical with the ball but you lack physical strength." This repeated statement was a huge motivation for me, primarily because the Development Academy Program and the ECNL Program in Dallas Texans were very interested in selecting me to play with the teams on those levels but were hesitant to offer me consistent playing time due to my lack of physical strength. With that in mind, over the course of three years, up until my junior year, I dedicated myself to gaining strength and individual soccer training and I was able to go from weighing 110 lbs to now 163 lbs.
I am a good recruit because I know how to take criticism. I let it motivate me to becoming a better player to help my coach and teammates. My club and varsity teammates know me for my lack of selfishness primarily due to the fact that I always put the team's success over mine. I never see my stats, whether it is goals or assists, as a personal accolade of mine. I rather see them as a supporting factor in order to help my side to achieve the ultimate goal: to win.
