Marvin Garcia '22 Recruiting Profile

Hello, my name is Marvin Osvaldo Garcia. I have been playing soccer since I was about 5 years old. I started off playing for Annandale for about 2 years, from there I went to LMVSC, at LMVSC I played as a striker, I played there for about 7 years before I moved to Arlington. Once I moved to Arlington I started playing outside back because my coach wanted to try me out in a different position and he liked the way I played as a fullback. From there I started to adapt to my new position and I really enjoy playing in that position. Now for my last year of club soccer I am playing as a ST/RW/LW/LB/RB .My favorite team is Real Madrid and when I watch their games I pay attention to what their fullbacks do (Marcelo and Carvajal) and watch their movement and their style of play. Personally I like Marcelos style of play because he likes to go up a lot to try and make crosses or even shots and that is the style my coach wants us to play as fullbacks. I want to play college soccer because it would allow me to pursue soccer at a higher level and could help me improve at the game. I want to be able to make it pro and playing at a high level could help me achieve that goal. Some colleges I want to go to are ODU, VCU, GMU, William and Mary, and University of Virginia. I also want to explore some out of state colleges that are good academically.
