Dominic DiGiacomo '15 Recruiting Profile

Playing soccer has always been a passion of mine.  My father (VT '85, NISOA national referee) had me kicking a soccer ball soon after I first started to walk.  I played organized club soccer thru middle school traveling across Virginia to various tournaments.  Due to family circumstances, I was forced to relocate to a rural area where travel soccer programs were not readily available and soccer was only played in the spring.  Hence, I played a variety of sports such as golf (4-yr starter, state championship, state-runner up, captain), X-country (2 time state champion, 1st team all-state, captain), track (4 x 800m, 1st team all-state) and basketball (3-yr starter, state semi-finalist, captain).  I have been lucky enough to earn letters in 5 high school varsity sports.

During my high school years, I played soccer in the spring, reaching the state quarterfinals in my freshman year, state semi-finals in my sophomore year and finally becoming a state champion in my junior year (21-1-1).  I received first team all-state honors as a center mid-fielder in 2014 and I anticipate being named the team captain for my senior year as I will be the only 4-yr starter on the team.

Academically, I am interested in pursuing a career in engineering, the sciences or finance.  I have completed multiple dual credit college courses in computer information systems and accounting.  I have also taken advanced placement and honors classes in Math, History and English.  I rank in the top 20% of my class and have worked hard to develop the skills necessary to balance the demands of athletics and academics.

I  understand that my soccer resume is not as impressive as other athletes that have been fortunate enough to play year round.  I am simply looking for an opportunity to play at the next level and believe my passion, work ethic, athleticism and leadership skills will enable me to compete for a roster spot within a competitive collegiate program.
