Soccer has provided me with direction in life, invaluable experiences, and happiness every time I get on the field. I've learned a lot about myself throughout these years in the sport. When there's stress in my life, I know soccer will make that feeling disappear. It's given me a drive to do well in school and to make my parents proud since they put a lot of time in commuting. It's taught me how important it is to work as a team, and not just an individual, in all areas of life, and how good it feels to be healthy and strong.
I started playing club soccer in seventh grade, and made the B team. Since that experience, every time I reach a new level, I work towards the next, from playing varsity as a freshman, to representing Washington State in the ODP Regional Championships. I now commute four times a week to play for Seattle United, three hours round trip from my home city, Bellingham. I never want to shy away from a challenge, and it is my goal to attend a college that fits me both athletically and academically.
