Soccer highlights #1
2017 HighlightsSoccer has been a part of my life ever since I can remember. The game has helped me through rough times and made me a better person teaching me life lessons, goal setting, and overcoming adversity. My goals after I graduate high school include playing college soccer and preparing for a career in the field of sports medicine.
What makes me a good candidate for your team is my mental aspect to the game. Every coach I’ve ever had would tell you they frequently heard two questions from me throughout the season - “what can I do to get better to get to the next level?” and “what do you look for in a player?”. Coach responses to these questions drive me to improve and analyze my performance after every game for strengths and weaknesses.
Because I constantly ask my coaches for help, I understand that ball control, decision making, pace of play, and being two footed are very important for success at the college level. I may not be the tallest or fastest on the team but what makes me different compared to other players are traits such as grit, tenacity, hard work, and a desire to continually improve my own skills.
Theses traits are apparent in the classroom, on the pitch, and in my community. In school I am always asking questions to my teachers, looking for ways to improve my ability to learn (and strengthen my GPA). On the pitch, my passion for the game stands above my peers. I love being able to celebrate with my team when we achieve success - that feeling keeps me driven to always improve. And in the community, I enjoy volunteering at the local YMCA with the younger pre-K kids, helping them meeting new friends and introducing them to sports activities.
I am always striving for self-improvement, I am coachable and am driven to win both in the classroom and on the field, and with that I am a good choice for your college. Thank you for your time and consideration.
