Personal Statement
I plan to enter college in the fall of 2023 to pursue a degree in engineering. Doing well in school is important to me, so studies are a number one priority coming before all else, even soccer. Being homeschooled for five years helped me to learn self-motivation and time management. These have also helped me succeed in public school and online studies never missing the honor roll.
My freshman year I made the varsity squad. I was going to be a starter. A week before my first high school varsity game the season was canceled due to Covid. I learned to never take for granted my time on the field. Nothing is guaranteed. Now, every time I step on the pitch, I play with my whole heart and leave everything out there, because it could be the last.
In addition, my soccer experience has helped me to learn perseverance, teamwork, and dedication. Skills that have carried over into academics with a strong focus and persistent drive to be my best. I would make a great addition to your team because I put my all into every training session and every game.
Growing up in rural Wyoming the whole college selection process has been a bit daunting to me, however, it has also opened my eyes to the many opportunities there are. I hope to go as far as I can in the world of soccer and am thankful to have a strong family behind me supporting me through this process.
