2016 HighlightsMy unique start to life started shaping me as a person almost instantly. At the age of three I lost my big sister to a genetic mutation that my family never knew we had. This taught me that nothing comes easy and you have to put hard work and effort into everything you do. My medical history led me to swimming. In 2015 I won my first Alaska State Age Group Championship and this helped me grow as a person. I learned that if you put the effort into the things that you want, then you will be rewarded accordingly.
I believe that my start in life gave me an advantage compared to other kids my age. I have persevered and made it through some very hard times and learned what was really important in life, family, and my education. Swimming is and will continue to be a part of my life. With this, I have always worked hard in school. My high school academic goals are to keep my GPA at 3.5 or above. With all I have learned, encountered and endured over that past 14 years I know that I will bring good things to any college team and will put 100% into everything I do.
