Evan Jue '24 Recruiting Profile

Hello Coaches, my name is Evan Jue and I am a 2024 graduate from Long Beach Poly High School and swimmer at Lakewood Aquatics. I made my first splash 13 years ago as a 3 year old, too scared to get in the deep end and too small to swim more than a 25. Going from the beginners group of learn to swim to where I am today, has taught me a lot about this sport and myself. I learned commitment, dedication, humility but most importantly of all how to be a part of a team. A common misconception about swimming is that it is an individual sport, but in reality no swimmer can succeed without the help of coaches, the upliftment of teamates and the support from family.

So far I have collected 3 futures cuts (1650, 1000, 400 IM) and am knocking on the door of my first winter juniors cut. I primarily swim distance free and IM but am always excited to race any event. In the classroom, I have maintained a 3.94 GPA and a 4.67 UWGPA (5.0 scale on AP and Honors courses 10th-12th). Balancing 8 practice a week and almost only AP/Honors classes is a challenge but I have learned to embrace it and the skills I learn from it. Skills that will be useful in college and on including time management, discipline and balance . As my journey as a swimmer and student progresses, I hope to be able to take what I've learned and learn more at the collegiate level.
