My name is Ailene Rios a Senior at Long Beach Poly High School,
I have been running since I was 11 years old and have been in love with it since. When it comes to running I give my full dedication and effort to achieve the best that I can do. Since then I always wanted to run in college, and be in a team that can achieve the impossible and work hard for what they want. As I always tell my teammates during meets ''you've gotta work for it , if you really want it''. And that has been a challenge having that we are facing a global pandemic, but that has not stopped my training and my goals to committing to a good school.
As a freshman at a D1 high school I made the varsity Cross country and Track and Field teams leading up to my senior year. My greatest in my high school running career I accomplished winning first place on the frosh/soph league and becoming Moore League Finals Champ. My athletic abilities as a runner I strived to become Senior Captain and lead my team. And as of 2021 I've accomplished just that. My junior and senior year have been a difficult one but that only ignited a greater passion and love for the sport as I push myself to be the best athlete that I can be pushing myself past those limits.
What I bring to my team is full support and my full attention to my responsibilities to my team. I am a dedicated runner that just wants a great experience in running within my performance. Running is a stress reliever allowing me to concentrated on my academics and seeing different perspectives on how I can do better having great grades and a great team. I want to join a team that can push me both in the classroom and on the track.
