Unlike most aspiring collegiate athletes, I started swimming at the club level just last September (during my junior year of high school) and this has allowed me to drop time very quickly. I have always enjoyed swimming and was active in summer swim league throughout my elementary and middle school years. My high school (Peak to Peak Charter in Lafayette, CO) does not have a swim team, so I joined the Broomfield High School swim team as a freshman and have swam with them from that point on. I hope that from college swimming I can both improve my skills as a swimmer, but also balance my rigorous academic life with an activity that I love. The closest friends that I have are people that I have met through swimming. Not only are they my friends and teammates, but they have become a form of family for me; I look forward to experiencing that in college with my new swim mates. Swimming, additionally has helped me realize how important fitness is to me, and it has sparked my interest in physical therapy and exercise sciences.
