I began swimming through our neighborhood summer club swim team at the age of 6, where my love for the sport quickly grew. At 11 I knew that I wanted more, and this is when I decided to join Foothills Swim Team (FST). At FST I quickly rose through the training groups getting to Senior Prep by the time I was 13. This was when I decided to go all in with swimming. I began to see major improvements in my time and at our midseason Taper Meet made my first sectionals qualifying time in the 200 Fly. This also earned my spot on the Colorado All Stars Team where I competed in Iowa against the best swimmers in the Midwest. By the end of the season at the age group state meet, I was able to drop another 3 seconds in the 200 Fly and became the Colorado State Champion!
As a Freshman in High School, I earned the Butterfly spot on the A 200 Medley relay team with three seniors who swam at the national level. We broke our high school record and won second place at the Colorado High School State Meet. This also qualified us for an automatic NISCA All American time. I am currently in the Senior group with Foothills Swim Team, and during the long course season this summer, I made the Futures cuts in the 200 and 100 Breaststroke. At the Speedo Sectionals meet in Boise, Idaho this July, I qualified for finals in the six events I swam and placed 8th in the 200 Breaststroke.
As a 15-year-old In March of 2024; I swam at Speedo Sectionals in Phoenix Arizona, where I achieved the Winter Junior Nationals cut during prelims in the 200 breaststroke. Then in finals I made the Speedo Summer Championship Cut with a time of 2:22.01. Additionally, I made Futures Championships cuts in the 400IM and the 100 breaststroke.
Although I am a club swimmer now, the summer club where I started my journey in swimming has a special place in my heart. I enjoy going back to work with and encourage the young swimmers on the team. I aspire to be a role model that they can look up to. It is my goal to swim in college for a school that through my hard work not only allows me to become a better swimmer, but also become a better person at the same time.
