Being an only child, I had the luxury to spend endless hours in the water. I never loved the water like I do today and only considered swimming in the bathtub. My grandmother had a pool and I never got in it until I was forced to, and never enjoyed it. But then I built up the courage to do swimming lessons. My mom was hesitant at first but signed me up and I actually enjoyed the water for the first time in my whole life. I joined the swim team at the age of four.
Looking back at these times and now, I realize that I have accomplished so much in my life athletically and academically, and swimming has become my number one priority. Swimming has changed my life drastically. It has made me a better person and made me look at things with maturity.
I will take swimming to the collegiate level because I feel like I have what it takes and I want to pursue my dreams of becoming a Division one swimmer. I truly believe that I am a future Olympian.
