Let me introduce myself. I am David Tomlin III, and I live in South Jersey, in a small town named Pennsville in Salem County. I am 16 years old and currently a Sophomore at the Salesianum High School in Wilmington, Delaware. I have participated in various sports in my developmental years, but I have always excelled with hard work and dedicated practice as a competitive swimmer. I began swimming at the age of 6 with the Delaware Swim Team from New Castle, Delaware, as a division of Delaware Fitness. I transitioned to the Diamond State Aquatics in Wilmington, Delaware. I rank in the Top 10 in all my events with Diamond State Aquatics and rank 1st in 50 Breast, 50 Fly. I rank within the Top 10 of Delaware in 50 Breast and 100 IM. I also competitively swim as a varsity member of the Salesianum High School Swim Team. Salesianum has successfully captured the DIAA State Championship in both years that I have been on the Swim Team.
I take great pride in my swimming acumen, and I continue to refine my skills, strength, and conditioning by attending at least four regularly scheduled practices a week. I will attend additional if my academic schedule permits. I am looking forward to continuing my competitive swim career after I graduate High School, and I would like to attend a College or University where I can achieve an RN in a high-quality nursing program while also being a positive contributing team member of Division 2 or Division 3 competitive swim team. I am confident that the skills I am gaining at the Salesianum School by having multiple competing academic and athletic priorities will position me to be a successful College Graduate to join the workforce as a Registered Nurse while still being able to maintain the needed athletic skills to be a successful competitive swimmer.
I am looking forward to exploring the opportunities at a higher learning school while continuing to excel as a competitive swimmer and be the best that I can be through dedication and hard work.
