Eastern Iowa Swim Federation (Formerly Cedar Rapids Aquatics Association, CRAA) is a year-round competitive USA swimming program that offers high quality professional coaching and technique instruction for all ages and abilities. Our main practice site is at the Coe College Natatorium in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. EISF coaches emphasize hard work, dedication, time management, sportsmanship, and teamwork, empowering individuals to be successful in life through excellence in swimming. EISF provides every member the opportunity to improve swimming skills and achieve success at his or her level of ability, from novice to international competitor.

The University of Iowa Swimming Camps offer an intense and fun learning experience for kids 9* thru 18 years old (9 year olds are only permitted to attend with the commuter option and must stay off campus overnight). Head Coach Marc Long and his staff will instruct and demonstrate elite-level strokes, starts, and turns during your stay at camp.

Fitter and Faster Distance Freestyle Technique and Open Water Racing

Distance swimming isn't always about who is the best swimmer (even though that helps). Most of the time it's about who can outsmart their opponent. Learn the strategy of the best distance freestylers as well as open water swimmers in the world by working with Olympic pool AND open water swimmer Chloe Sutton and practice the skills, drills, and exercises that she uses in the pool that her get her hand on the finishing pad FIRST in the open water. Freestyle Technique: In distance racing, your freestyle stroke must maximize every ounce of efficiency possible. Long, relaxed, and powerful strokes are very important to being able to finish a long distance race. Learn how to engage your core so that you can swim fast while conserving energy! Work on your technqiues for your freestyle so that you can swim long and fast just like Chloe Sutton. Introduction to Open Water Strategy: Learn the sighting, drafting, and strategy technqiues that go into racing in the open water. This sport can be a fun and refreshing opportunity for swimmers of all ages to have a change of scenery and an opportunity to be successful.
