Gavin Hopewell '24 Recruiting Profile

For as long as I can remember I have always loved swimming and competing. I have been swimming competitively since I was 6 years old and was around the pool even before that. I have an older brother who is now swimming at Florida Southern College and my dad is a coach at one of the local club teams. Some of the things that I’ve learned about myself through being on many teams within different sports is that I get along well with my teammates and they tend to rally around me. I’ve also learned that I have a good work ethic and I’m resilient. 

My academic goals through college are to continue to grow through learning more about myself and what I want to do for the rest of my life. Some of my characteristics are that I’m a hard worker, I like to stay on task, and get things done but also have fun while doing it. If I’m in a group I do my best to keep the mood light. To sum it up I’m a hard worker who likes to be around his teammates and have some good laughs.
