Throughout my ten years of swimming I have been met with many challenges. Each challenge took developing a different skill to overcome it. The most recent of these challenges has been the delay of my high school season due to COVID-19. While facing being stuck at home, I have had to learn to make my own workout schedule and follow it even when I don’t want to. Out of everything I have learned from my time out of the water due to the coronavirus, integrity has been the biggest. It is easy to stay motivated when you have a team right there with you, but it’s what you do when there is no one watching that defines you as an athlete.
I have been a swimmer since I was seven years old and I am so grateful for all that my club and high school team had taught me, nonetheless I cannot wait for the opportunity to swim in college. I am looking for a college that has an athletic program that can help me grow as a swimmer, and an academic program that will refine me as a person and ready me for life.
