Swimming in college is a dream I have been pursuing since I was 8 years old and I can't wait to see where it takes me in college. I have loved the sport ever since I first stepped foot in a competitive pool over 8 years ago. What I love most about swimming is the friends that I have made along the way. As an athlete, I am a skilled sprinter and frequently represent the varsity swim team at University Lab School in 200y IM and 100y breaststroke, placing top 8 in my events every year of high school, contributing to my team's 2nd place state finish two years in a row. In addition, I also serve younger athletes as an advanced swim instructor for Tiger Aquatics. What I love most about working with young swimmers is seeing their stroke technique improve over time and watching them fall in love with the sport just like I did. In college, in addition to representing my school athletically, I look forward to pursuing a major in engineering or natural resource conservation to pursue a future career in a field related to one of those majors. Overall, I look forward to being a college athlete so that I can continue to improve myself as a better swimmer, mentor, and student.
