Personal Statement

My love for swimming started at the age of 10 in a summer swim league.  I had always enjoyed swimming, but I felt something different when I put on a cap and set of goggles for my first race.  At the age of 12, I joined my first competitive swim club.  I learned the importance of being a leader by pushing myself to improve and to celebrate the victories of my teammates.  I also volunteer coach in the summer time at my local summer swim team.  I enjoy seeing kids get excited about swimming the same way I did the first time I put on my cap and goggles.

In addition, many members of this group swim concurrently with their high school swim teams. High school programs usually practice in the morning and swim with their club team in the afternoon/evening. Swimming with this group will work hand in hand to provide the additional training needed for the high school swimmer to be competitive in both the USA Swimming and Texas High School programs.
