Tyler Doerrer '18 Recruiting Profile

If I had to use one word to describe myself it would be dedicated.  I am dedicated to my academics, team, community, and family.  Whether in the pool or in the classroom I never except mediocrity and always lead by example.  My character is of the utmost importance, honesty, and respect.  

My academics are my first priority.  I have dedicated myself to excellence in the classroom by taking a rigorous course of study and excelling in all areas.  I truly enjoy participating in the learning process and am looking for a University that offers a personalized approach to learning.

My career in competitive swimming began at age 6.  It was at this early age that I learned how much I enjoyed racing and despised losing.  I take gratification in working hard in the pool.  Leadership in swimming is interconnected in my life.  I lead by example by being first in the pool at practice, hitting the weight room hard, and giving it my all in every set.  I know that to be successful in the pool I must be committed 365 days a year.  A positive attitude is one of my strongest points, and believe that one person can make a huge impact by this and their actions in and out of the water.  Giving back is an important part of who I am.  I am actively involved in Blessing in a Backpack, Mock trial, Bulldog ambassador, and our youth group at Church.

I relish the opportunity to race at the collegiate level and am looking forward to learning and growing more at the right college for me.
