I have been swimming since I was 10 years old and competitively since I was 12. What started as a way to stay active during the summer, has grown into my athletic passion. Although I was diagnosed early in life with reactive airway disease, and since outgrown this, I worked through it and won the 100 yard freestyle at the Greater Knoxville Area Interleague Swimming Association’s Championship meet for my age group. Being a multi-sport athlete as I have grown up, has helped me learn the value of both individual effort and team sportsmanship.
I have the desire to personally succeed while also motivating those around me to do their best as well. Academically I am striving to be a valedictorian and graduate from college and go on to earn a Master’s degree. Athletically, I want to achieve at the highest levels. More than this, I want to be part of a team with a strong character and academic program which will enable me to personally succeed while also learning about my teammates so I can help them with their success. One of my highest goals, simply put, is to always work toward and be a better person.
