Personal Statement
- I am Arjun-Preethi Nair and am a Junior at Ashland High, Massachusetts. I love sports very much and am a strong Tennis and Soccer player. Beginning fall 2019 I have focused solely on Tennis and my goal and aspiration is to play at a high collegiate level.
- I started playing tennis and soccer since the age of 6 and have been playing competitive USTA tournament tennis since the age of 11. I have won tournaments in the U12, U14, U16 and U18 divisions. I have played club level soccer for 10 years and my team – FC Blazers(coached by Francis Okaroh – New England Revolutions and Chicago Fire former professional soccer player) was selected to play in high level National and Regional tournaments in the U15 and U17 divisions. In a critical group stage U15 game, I scored a goal off a header from a corner kick, that put my team in the State Cup semi-finals. As a result, in December 2017 our team got entry to attend the Disney showcase tournament in Orlando, Florida. In the U17 season we won the Needham Memorial Day Tournament at UMass Amherst. As a result, in February 2019 our U17 team got to attend the national level Del Sol Presidents Day Soccer Tournament in Phoenix, Arizona.
Academically, I am a strong mathematics and science student. I completed the Kumon Mathematics program which included advanced differentiation and applications of differential calculus by 9th grade and attained a national ranking of 50 of 14000 students. For my Senior year, I have been recommended to AP Chemistry, AP Calculus, AP Computer Science, Honors Physics, and Honors English.
