Dear Collegiate Coaches:
I want to express my interest in playing on the tennis team at a major university. Tennis has been a passion of mine since my father coached me since I was 4 years old. I have been fortunate enough to have many opportunities to develop my game through intensive training, competitive tournaments, and private lessons.
I started playing tournaments when I was 6 years old, following the USTA ROGY program. Throughout my high school career, I have competed against some of the top players in the Missouri Valley region, by playing in USTA tournaments.
I have played a total of 64 singles tournaments and 22 doubles tournaments. I was a finalist for over 19 of tournaments I have ever entered and I have won 14 tournaments and runner up in 5. During tournaments, I compete in both singles and doubles events.
To get used to playing college level tennis, I also enter Adult Open tournaments. I was given a wild card to play in the ITF qualifying in Edwardsville, IL in 2023. I lost in the first round but gained the experience to realize that I have many things yet to improve my game.
In my high school freshman year, I placed 4th in Missouri state for doubles. Then in my sophomore year I placed 3rd in Missouri state for doubles. I'll be a Junior this year and I hope to reach the finals of the Missouri state doubles in the 2024 high school season.
I am currently enrolled at the Forest Lake Tennis Academy clinic in Chesterfield, Missouri, which I attend 2 times a week. I have had many private coaches in my life. My current coach is Santioago Munoz that I have trained under for over a year.
As a dedicated tennis player, my weekly activities include: 1 hour private lessons, 2 hours a week of tennis clinic, 4 hours of physical workout at the gym, 4 hours playing scrimmage matches with players better than myself and additional hours playing USTA tournaments.
My coach and I set a goal to play 2 USTA tournaments a month so I gain experience in high level competition and learn match strategy. My goal is to win matches more by playing at least 40 high level USTA matches a year.
As I look to the future, I am excited about the prospect of continuing my tennis career at the collegiate level. I am confident that I have the skills, determination, and dedication needed to succeed as a college tennis player, and I am eager to contribute to a team and make a positive impact on and off the court.
Thank you for viewing my tennis resume on this site, and I look forward to the opportunity to discuss my qualifications if you think I have the talent to be part of your team.
Sincerely,
Kai Daudsyah
