Hi coaches, my name is Nikola Kilibarda and I have been playing tennis since I was just 3-4 years old. I truly love nothing more than to compete and/or practice on the court. I got into sport of tennis, about 13 years ago, when my family moved to our current house, where there was a run down tennis court with a ripped up net. My dad originally wanted me to play basketball; however, I was interested and excited about tennis at that time, so I stuck to it. Playing tennis in college is a goal I expect to achieve. Failure is something I cannot stand for, but I understand that sometimes it is inevitable and I always come back stronger from losses. I go into a match expecting to play my best. If I win, I reward myself and I continue practicing the next day. If I don't win, I go into the practice the next day playing harder than I did the previous day. Many athletes say they're driven to do their best in their sport, but few of them are willing to do what it takes to distinguish themselves from other athletes at the same level. My current goals, throughout the year, are to get faster, improve my agility, continue to refine my tennis technique, and add little muscle mass for increased power on my strokes. I plan to go to a nationally ranked college in the US, as a business/finance/economics major, preferably one with a Division 1 program and close to my hometown of South Jersey; however, if the right opportunity is presented, I would chose the path that offers the best coaches and the best tennis programs, regardless of the location.
