Personal Statement
I have a deep love for running. My freshman year I ran but in a very limited manner. I ran because I enjoyed it, I didn't feel a need to compete. This all changed in the 2020 Cross Country season. During the 2020 season, I wanted to make varsity desperately but did not yet have the talent to do so. At the end of the season, I ended with a PR of 20"06 not even breaking 20! In the offseason following this season, committed to bettering my running abilities, I trained consistently over the months leading to the track season. I made huge growth, Finishing my first track season with a mile PR of 5 flat. This was my first taste of the competitiveness of racing. I then trained through the summer into the next XC season climbing up the roster finishing the season with the fastest PR of the team and dropping 3 minutes and 42 seconds from the previous season With a time of 16"24 at low elevation and 16"33 in Denver. Since this past XC season I have joined the track club Denver Hustle, with their support and guidance I think I will have even more growth. I love growing as an athlete and being to compete at a higher and higher level. I would love to run at the collegiate level, I think this would push me more than I have ever before and I want to see what I'm capable of at this highly competitive level.
