Personal Statement
Why I Run
Running's in my blood. I run, and love it nonetheless, as did all the Flints in my family which came before me. This lineage helps to create a passion for the sport which I hold very dear. As cliché as it may sound, a day without running is a day poorly spent. Plus on top of my own passion, there's always that little nag at the back of my mind to be able to say that I'm the best runner in the family. Gotta love some friendly family competition!
Collegiate Aspirations
I hope to join a program where I can channel my passion for running into great things, both for the team and as an individual. I feel I am great at leading by example, and inspiring those around to strive to be the best which they can be. I also really take an interest into why we run, as in how it trains our body to be the best it can be in competition. I feel this can set me apart from those that simply run without any knowledge behind why as I am able to place even further confidence in everything. Even if a workout or run doesn't feel like it's doing anything or even if it feels as if its doing too much, I'm able to recognize the importance behind it and doing it as it is designed because of the biological impact which is intended behind it. On top of my running, I also take my academics very seriously. I strive to do my best all the time, and hope that it shines through not just in my running but also in my academics as much as possible.
