My name is Cooper Allen. I am a Junior at STEM School Highlands Ranch (Class of 2026). I take part in Cross Country at STEM School Highlands Ranch and take part in Track and Field at Thunderridge High School. I have always loved the idea of running, even in my younger years as a kid. I started with “Fun Runs” with my Mom and a running club in Elementary school. I like to run because it boosts my mood and energy, helps me focus, and pushes my body and mind. I believe I get better at running every single time I run.
Inside school, I am a hardworking and very productive student. I always want to find a way to challenge myself. I have maintained good grades and a high GPA of 3.72, or 3.9 with weighted classes. I have taken two AP classes in the past, and am currently taking two other AP classes. I plan to take more in the future. Classes I enjoy in school are Math, History, Engineering, and Physical Education.
Outside of my academics & athletics, I am employed at a Retirement Facility as a server in one of the restaurants. I started working there during the summer in 2022 at 14 and am still working there to this day. My other hobbies include camping and hiking with my family, skiing, and playing guitar and bass.
When I entered high school, I aspired to one day run at the college level. I knew this would require taking the sport seriously. During my Freshman year, I joined cross country, only running at the JV level. This was also the year my school offered Track. When they did offer Track, I made the Varsity team and won the Rookie of the Year award. Entering my sophomore year, I made Varsity team for Cross Country and won a couple awards at meets. This was the year my school stopped offering Track, so I joined up at Thunderridge. I hope to one day attend a college that will not only help push myself to an even greater level of running but also make me a better rounded person in other aspects of life in the future during and after college.
