I started playing spring lacrosse in 1st grade and every summer, every fall, and every spring lacrosse was my life. All the way up to high school almost every friend I had played lacrosse with me at some point in my life. That is why when I decided to leave lacrosse for track and field in the spring of my sophomore year it was one of the hardest decisions of my life. Up to 10th grade point I had never made a big decision like that and I admit it stung for a little while. The driving factor to my switch was simply my passion for track.
I ran indoor track my freshmen and sophomore year and I could not get enough of it. I would hyper obsess over how to run the 4x2 and 55 meter dash every winter and when I could only run for 2 months I felt terrible after. It would feel as if I would grind and practice outside of school for improvement in the offseason of a sport I loved and then just switch to lacrosse and lose that passion. Therefore, once I switched to outdoor track as well I kept that same drive. I practice every week outside of my team's practices and have improved my 200 meter time from a 24 sec to a 22 sec in 3 weeks and I don’t plan on slowing down.
