Austin Durfee '21 Recruiting Profile

My name is Austin Durfee,

    I am a Junior at Eagle High School. I am looking forward to meeting coaches and touring colleges. I would like to find a college where I can put my track skills to use. I am a highly self-motivated individual. I enjoy track because it allows me to compete as an individual as well as being a part of a team. I am highly competitive, and I like to challenge myself. I love the challenge of trying to beat my personal record and competing against athletes.

     I have been running track for 4 years now after I quickly realized my potential in the sport. As a freshman, I earned my way onto the Eagle High Schools Varsity track team through my dedication and hard work. I am a District III and 5A State champion for the 4x100m and placed second for the 4x200m. I have been named, "one of 5A's top student-athletes" two years in a row and I have also earned a Southern Idaho Conference Academic Award. Not only do I run track for Eagle High School, but I also participate both in Summer Outdoor track and Winter Indoor track for Idaho Dash. 

     I am involved in many extracurricular activities both in and out of school. I am a member of the National Honors Society. I was an Officer but now am currently President for Business Professionals of America at Eagle High School. I have also competed at the state level for Business Professionals of America. My Leadership skills also reflect in the community that I am a part of. I lead High schoolers' in Fellow Christian Athletes Club every other Wednesday at Eagle High School. Every Tuesday I am a leader for Middle Schoolers at my local church. I lead the Middle Schoolers through questions and help them through any difficulties that they might be having. I have many hobbies which include being SCUBA Certified and I enjoy Mountain Biking. But what intrigues me is the use of technology in today's age. I have become very fond of the use of computers. I have custom-built three computers and I am a Micro Microsoft Apps Specialist. I have learned so much from them and I am hoping I can pursue further education with computer sciences.
