Eric Blaha '20 Recruiting Profile

Hello Coach, 

I am a third generation track athlete. Both my grandfather and father have been athletes and coaches. Even though the family tradition has been high jump, I have fallen in love with javelin. My problem has been that javelin is not allowed in Illinois high schools. However, I have devoted my time after my high school track practices and my past two summers to javelin. It might also be worth noting that I am almost two years younger than some of the boys I compete with in my age group. I am already looking forward  to the next track season because I have improved by about 10m between the summers. Even though I qualified for but underperformed at the AAU Nationals, I placed 30th. I expect to do much better next year.

Aside from javelin, I have also been working towards earning my private pilot's license because I will major in aviation. Thank you for considering me for your track team.
