Ever since I was a little kid, I loved running, I ran with my mom and dad. I liked the feeling when I would finish a run and have that feeling of accomplishing something. Thats what high school track and cross-country have given to me and more. Track and cross-country also help feed my need to be competitive. It does that by allowing me to compete not only with kids from other schools but also with my teammates during workouts, long runs, and weekly mileage. Also running has made me a better student, by teaching me time management when planning when to do workouts. These traits make me a better teammate because I am not worried about schoolwork and focus on the task at hand. When I am with the team, I am the teammate who jokes around to make the hard workouts tolerable. This trait helps us come into each workout with a positive attitude and the mindset to thrive instead of just surviving. These traits that I have learned during my high school career are the same reason that I would like to run collegiately. Running collegiately would allow me to continue to grow these traits and also grow my fitness which will allow me to get a head start into my life past college.
