My name is Emily Schoen and I go to a small high school in Gillespie, Illinois. I wish to compete in college because I feel as though I have not gotten what I wanted out of my high school track career. Unfortunately, Covid shut down my freshman track season, but I was able to compete my sophomore year and qualified for state in shot put and placed 13th at the Class 1A IHSA State Track Meet with a throw of 36’7 which is my current personal record. My junior year was cut way short due to an ACL injury during my Volleyball season which left me out of sorts for the rest of the year. However, despite these obstacles I plan to continue weight training and athletic training to prepare for my senior year and to hopefully get recruited to compete at a collegiate level. I’m a very hard worker and will put 110% into anything and everything I can to be the absolute best thrower and athlete I can possibly be.
Thank you for your time,
Emily Schoen
