Personal Statement
As an aspiring candidate for your program, I truly believe I was born to run! I have been able to maintain an A average throughout my academic career while still playing multiple sports since the age of 5 (track, soccer, baseball, basketball, cross country, football). I believe in setting an example in all aspects of my life, especially for my younger brothers and cousins. I am determined, motivated, enthusiastic, eager to learn, and responsible. I want to major in biology, as to one day become a marine biologist. I am an advocate of serving my community through various organizations in Texas and Louisiana. What makes me stand out is my willingness to never give up. When I was 10 years old I was a sprinter and wanted to try long distance, despite my parents objecting. They didn't think I could handle it. After convincing my coaches I was ready, at the next track meet, I entered myself in the 400, 800, and 1600m taking home all 1st place. It was then I knew I had something special. My freshman year I was voted most underrated athlete for 2019 while maintaining a 5.625/6.0. You see sometimes you have to believe in yourself, have faith, and keep striving for excellence no matter the adversity.
My goal is to not only succeed academically, but to also be an asset to your track organization by being a team leader and motivator, community leader, all while learning from my coaches, teammates, and peers. I believe that individual growth is great, but there is nothing better than growing together as a team!
