Preston Nichols '22 Recruiting Profile

A key characteristic about me is that I like to seek out challenges. Not just in track, but in my education as well. I don’t like things being easy for me, even if it makes me look good. I would rather be pushed by a competitor than win by a longshot. Playing two sports in the same season is a challenge for me, but I persevere and I succeed in both sports as well as continue growing academically. I am a good leader and am willing to lead teammates through anything. I started running track at a very young age, but I didn’t realize my passion for it until my eighth grade year. I was just coming off of a hip injury and I worked hard so I was able to achieve my goals for that year.

I am hoping to become a teacher someday. My mom has influenced me to want to pursue this career because I see what she does every day. She helps students learn not just math, but life skills as well. I want to be an influence to kids and people someday just like my mom.
