Personal Statement
My name is Ian Horton and I am a class of 2024 runner that attends Joplin High School in Missouri. I have competed on the varsity team all 3 years I have been in high school for cross country and was a part of the first team to qualify to the state meet in our school's history since the 1960s. I currently hold the second fastest time for cross country in school history behind Hobbs Campbell, a KU commit. I plan on attending a good academic school and possibly running in college, whether I walk on to a program or receive a small scholarship. I plan on graduating in the top 10% of my grade and having good athletic achievements. I take student-athlete seriously and student comes first but does not subtract from my running ability.
