I started out running during my eight grade year of track, finishing a mile in just under the eight minute barrier. During my freshman year, I improved to PRs of 21:25 (in a fast 5k downhill) and a mile PR of 5:56 on the track. From then, I have improved to running in sophomore year 20:04 in the 5K in a hilly course (Cedar Grove Park). I am continuing to motivate myself to run more and train to be the best runner I can be and help my team as much as I can.
Running has really made me understand the ins and outs of time management and has led to me developing many crucial study habits that keep me close to a straight-A student in school. I've seen how running has changed my academic self and that the discipline in running carries well into my academic life. I hope these qualities are able to help your team succeed and help me become a better person.
