My name is Jonathan Forrest and I am a Junior student athlete at Bishop Eustace Preparatory School located in Pennsauken, New Jersey.
My first year of track was my sophomore year of high school. I attended a few weeks of practices during my freshman year, but Covid halted all activities until sophomore year winter track. Sophomore year was where I first discovered that track is the sport for me. Throughout my years of many sports, track is the sport that I have fallen in love with. I continued to win 1st Team All-Conference for the 4x100 team and 2nd Team All-Conference for individual 110m High Hurdles in my sophomore year. Junior year my passion for track grew immensely as I had more events to compete in and more medals to win. As of now, including both winter and spring track, the events I am trained to run in are the 110m High Hurdles, 100m dash, 200m dash, shuttle hurdles, 4x100m, 4x200m, 4x400m, sprint medley relay, triple jump, long jump, 50m dash, and the 55m hurdles. Each meet I attend my coach utilizes me in my max of four events on where I can best serve the team.
College goals are a very serious and thought out list of mine. I intend to attend a very academically challenging school, as well as a school that has a competitive track program for me to participate in. I am within the top 5 students in my grade and am on the track to compete for valedictorian. I also hope to participate in many aspects of the school as student ambassador, a club member, a teammate, and a great example of the students that attend that college. I hope to run track for a D1, D2, or D3 school. My junior year I am already outperforming my successful sophomore year, and still have more room to grow, according to my coach.
I love Bishop Eustace Prep which is why I involve myself in many different aspects of the school community. I am a goal orientated and highly driven student athlete who is recognized as leader amongst my peers. I am the President-Elect of the 2022-23 school year and I have also been a class representative for my grade as well. Along with my leadership position in school, I was nominated by my school staff to represent my school at the NBC10/Telemundo62/Widener High School Leadership Awards and I was one of the few students who was selected out of all the schools in the Philadelphia/Metropolitan area. Besides running varsity winter and spring track, I am also on the varsity football team as a running-back and kick returner, and I love the team camaraderie. I am in the performing arts program and held a lead role in the school play, The Drowsy Chaperone. I am currently a broadcaster for my school morning news program, as well as a member of several clubs (Chess, Black and White, Yearbook, and president of the Culture of Life Club). I am most proud of my academic performance at Bishop Eustace Prep. I am part of a small group of student who excel in the STEM Scholar Program, a rigorous program that has both academic and extracurricular requirements. I have been inducted into the National Honor Society, Marco Martorelli Chapter, along with the National Science Honor Society, English Honor Society, Thespian Honor Society, and Rho Kappa Social Studies Honor Society. I have remained on the Distinguished Honor Roll each semester at Bishop Eustace Prep, a GPA requirement of a 4.0+. If I am selected to be part of your team, you will get an academically well-rounded student who participates in all aspects of school, theater, sports, honors classes, and more. I have been able to maintain high academic standards and all these activities while also working in a restaurant for the past 4 years and maintaining my service commitment, through iCan Bike, by achieving over 58 hours serving communities in need.
I hope you find me to be a potential asset to your team, and school's, future success.
