Just so you know a little more about me. I played soccer since the age of 6 and at the USSDA (US Soccer Developmental Academy Soccer) level from sixth grade until sophomore year High School. I only began running in high school, and year over year, my times have progressively improved. My sophomore year I competed in NJ State Cross Country Meet of Champs (17:47), indoor NJ Group 1 State meet (3200 – 10:07) and outdoor NJ Group 1 State meet (800m – 1:59, 1600m – 4:26, 3200m – 9:50). Realizing my running potential, I fully committed to running as of my junior year. With this focus, I have seen my performance significantly improve. I won the NJ State Group 1 North 1 sectional meet (16:44), came in 6th at the NJ State All-Group 1 State meet (16:40), and ultimately finished 27th in the State at the 2019 NJ State Cross Country Meet of Champs (16:25). This indoor season I won both the 1600m and 3200m at the NJ State Group 1 North 1 sectional meet (4:29, 9:52), came in 3rd in both the 1600m and 3200m at the NJ State All-Group 1 state meet (4:23, 9:35), and ultimately finished 5th in the 1600m at the 2020 NJ State Meet of Champs (4.19). This actually qualified me for the 1-mile at the indoor New Balance Nationals, which was canceled.
I credit some of my success this year to my international competition experience. Having dual citizenship; American and Bermudian, afforded me the opportunity to represent Bermuda and compete at 2019 Carifta Games, where I placed 3rd in the U17 1500m (4:11) and 2nd in the U17 3000m (9:13). I also competed at 2019 NACAC, in the U17 1500m and 3000m. I recently qualified for 2020 Carifta Games for the U20 1500m and 5000m, which have been rescheduled for 2021 due to COVID-19. I am looking forward to representing Bermuda.
