Hi, my name is Dustin Swift. I am 5'10" tall and I weigh 150 pounds. I run 40m in 4.51s, and as far as I know I am the fastest person at my high school. I have a GPA of 3.65 and I also run cross country to stay in shape during off season. I really love and enjoy running Track and Feild very much.
During my track career i have acquired 83 medals including 4 state medals my freshman, sophmore, and junior years. I was also the freshman of the year during my freshman year and MVR (Most Valuable Runner) my sophmore year. In 8th grade the author of the book The Mentor came to our school and talked to us about his book. A couple of friends & I asked this multimillion dollar author (whose name was Tom Pace) to run in a marathon relay with us and he agreed. So we ran a marathon and got 8th overall, I think this is one of my greatest accomplishments ever.
I am a very strong leader in most everything I do. Not only while everything is great and everyone is high spirited, but also when the times aren't so great and the team is not doing so well. I help encourage people mentally, physically, and emotionally. I am also very hard working. I believe that you can't be a hard worker without being devoted and giving 110%. During off season I work hard to stay in top physical shape, I make sure I get enough sleep every night (roughly 8 hours), and I give my body the food it needs.
I am very passionate and my competitive level is very high, I really get into what I'm doing both mentally and emotionally.
I would like to go to school near Oklahoma mainly because that's where I live, however I don't have much preference of which school I would rather attend. I would prefer a decently large school with a high academic level. I plan on majoring in medicine and becoming an Anesthesiologist.
I hope to play at the highest competition level possible. Trophies and awards are not the reason I strive for these goals. I hope these endeavors will help me obtain my academic and life goals.
