I started throwing in track and field when I was in 6th grade. At first I didn't enjoy the sport. I found the sport itself boring, and I did not want to put the effort in to get better. But my friends, parents, and coaches made all the difference in me continuing to throw. And the longer that I threw, the more fun that it got, and the more fun it got, the further I wanted to throw!
When I reached high school, I was excited! I wanted to throw further, challenge myself both physically, and mentally. As a freshman I made the Varsity team and I placed 8th at districts, and that moment really ignited my passion for the sport. I started to train in the off season, throwing and lifting weights. When I could, I would ask one of the coaches to help me out during the off season and come down to the track to coach me.
In regards to academics, I work hard to be the best student I can. At the time of writing this I have a cumulative GPA of 4.27 and am on track to possibly be valedictorian.
I want to go to college and study something either within the realms of Physical Therapy, or Nutrition as well as improving my throws to be the absolute best that they can be. Furthermore I also hope that the experience of college and adulthood will lead me to grow as a person, grow in my faith, and turn me into someone I am proud to be.
