Personal Statement
I draw guidance and inspiration from my family. My growth as a student and athlete is very important to me and my parents. They have instilled in me hard work is a way of life and results are the measure of your work and dedication. I don't rely on being spoon feed, if I don't understand something or if unsure, it's my responsibility to ask the questions to find clarity. I'm from a school, like so many that have no javelin coach. I'm self taught and took the initiative to use the computer to look up on YouTube javelin throwing techniques, foot work and practice activities to strengthen my arm further. I've played team sports majority of my life, football, baseball, basketball, until the track coach asked if i would give it a try. I enjoyed it so much I stuck with it. I'm competitive, the results were I was only 3 feet short of states in my second year of throwing. I'm excited to see how far I can throw this year since last year was cancelled due to Covid.
