Personal Statement
I am currently a sophomore at Stanton High School, I run for our varsity cross country team and the 1,600 and 3,200 for the varsity track team. My true passion is the 1,600, I currently have a goal to set a new school record before I graduate from high school.
I began running my 7th grade year and enjoyed it but I really found the passion for running during the COVID shutdown. In order to stay in shape in hopes school would open back up and we would get to finish track season I started running daily, then continued through the summer to prepare from cross country the following year. Since joining the high school teams I have set some big goals. I have a childhood friend that has gone to state in cross country for three years of her high school career and is going to run in college, this helped me realize I wanted to follow her lead. I am also inspired by my grandfather who ran the mile when he was in school.
I am self motivated and a great student, I know that I would be a great addition to your track team.
