Hi, my name is Dylan. I started running 7 years ago. I've run varsity Cross Country and Track (indoor and outdoor) since freshman year. I have a huge passion for running, so much so that for the past two years I coached summer cross country training for the local middle and high school runners (around 20 athletes).
In Cross Country I have qualified as an individual to run at the State meet my junior year. My freshman year our indoor team earned State-runner ups, and the 4x8 team I ran on got 3rd overall. Our 4x8 team continued to place All-state during both indoor and outdoor for the next 4 seasons. I often run wherever my team needs me, whether that means the 4x4 at a district meet or the 3200 at regionals. I have been a team captain for both Cross Country and both Track seasons since my Junior year.
I take pride in my academics. I have never received a letter grade below an A throughout my entire academic career. I challenge myself with multiple AP classes, all of which I have received 5's on. I also attend the Central Virginia Governor Governor's School for Science and Technology, one of VA's magnet schools.
I hope to run in college both because I love the community running develops and I hope to continue to improve myself as a runner. I am a team player and will gladly run where the team needs me. One of my lifetime running goals is to break 15 minutes in the 5k, and I continue to work everyday striving towards that goal.
