Well being a Native American I've always been told that we're good for nothing and that we won't be anything when we grow up. I'm from the Oglala Lakota Sioux Tribe, in Pine Ridge, SD. So I've made a commitment to myself that I will do what it takes to graduate and become someone. I really want to show my peers and younger generations, maybe even older generations, that if we put our all into what we want that we can make it happen. I'm also really big on my Lakota culture, it did a lot for me. I lost a sister, an uncle, and a grandmother, to keep going I think of them when I want to stop and quit. They are always there for me, I want to make them as proud as I can.
I grew up playing this game since I was in second grade. I've loved the game since then, and I can't get enough of volleyball. I always put my all into this game, it cared for me when I felt like nobody did. I'm a setter/right side hitter and I have experience playing the game, I also have good work ethic and will do whatever it takes to get better.
As a Native American I set this goal and dream at a very young age, I always wanted to play at the collegiate level. It seems really exciting, I want to make myself proud by doing something good for the team and help win some big, big accomplishments. I will do my role and do my best to help out the team.
