Joshua Deckert '20 Recruiting Profile

I am hard working both on the court, in school, and in activities I am involved in outside of these.  I am dedicated to my team and the sport of volleyball - in fact, it is a passion.  What makes me different from the other recruits are two main things.  First,  I am 100 % committed to the sport, competitive (but will not yell or lose control at my teammates if they do something wrong or we lose a game). Instead of getting frustrated, I will guide by example.  Second, I am "coachable." I listen to the constructive criticism of my coaches and fellow teammates. I want to learn and improve my skills.  I want to be taught and guided. I put time and energy into practicing my skills (although some drills might not be as fun or exciting as others!). My goals for my college years include maintaining a high GPA, getting involved in school clubs/organizations, and of course, volleyball.  I hope to attend a college that offers an active and supportive volleyball program.
