Personal Statement
Hello! I'm Tanner Overbeck, my nickname is Tiny, and I am the youngest of three brothers. I am happy to say that I am now the biggest and strongest one of the three. I have grown up in a loving home with a lot of structure, accountability, and friendly competition. Whether it was the first one to buckle up in the car, or the first one to sit at the dinner table, my brothers and I have always made a game of it.
I am a 17 year old senior student athlete with a passion for the game of water polo. During my freshman, sophomore, and Junior years, I have taken a variety of AP, Honors, and College Prep courses that are challenging me in a great way. I take my education serious and I have specific goals that I wish to achieve both in the classroom and in the pool that will help me become a college athlete. I am excited to say that my freshman year got off to a great start. I was able to achieve two of my athletic goals, making Varsity as a freshman, and being part of a team that won league. I also made the Honorable Mention Team. My sophomore year was short but sweet due to Covid. We won all five games, won League, and I made First Team All League. My junior year was another successful season. We won league again, I made 1st Team All League for a second year, and I was awarded third team All CIF.
I am ready to prove that I have what it takes to play at the next level, and I will continue to work hard to achieve my dream of committing to an athletic brotherhood.
