Paul Schmid, Recruiting Specialist

Hi, my name is Paul Schmid and I’m a recruiting specialist here at NCSA. Having played just about every sport under the sun since I was a kid, I have always had a passion for athletics. As I got bigger (and a lot bigger, like, 6’6″ 300 pounds), the dream of playing collegiate athletics started to become more and more real. Football became my calling, and I always assumed with my size that schools would just come knocking down my door! Needless to say, that’s not exactly how it happened. Being from a really small school with a graduating class of only 34, and a team that didn’t win much, coaches just didn’t catch wind of me. It was then that my parents reached out to NCSA to help. It was the summer before my junior year, and within four weeks of hiring NCSA, my mailbox became more like a storage unit for mail from college football coaches! It really opened my eyes to the possibilities out there, and gave me more opportunity that I ever imagined. I ended up choosing Division III powerhouse Mount Union, and the experience was truly unforgettable. It’s now my passion and mission to help as many student-athletes have the same (or even better) experience that I had, which is exactly what I now do as a recruiting specialist here at NCSA.
